The
year 1960 marked the first time in 100 years that Vermont's
population increased between census periods. It also
marked the beginning of a significant period of population
growth in Waitsfield. Although Waitsfield's rate of
growth in the 1990s was less than neighboring Fayston and
Warren, its rate of growth was nearly three times that of
Washington County.
