WAITSFIELD HISTORICAL SOCIETY
2008 Annual Report

It is the
purpose of the Waitsfield Historical Society is to discover, collect,
preserve, and exhibit artifacts, papers, and other materials which
relate to or illustrate the historical development of the Mad
River Valley, Warren, Waitsfield, Fayston, and Moretown.
The Society
reports that 2008 was a year of achievement with donations of
many historical items that are being accessioned by curator Judy
Dodds with assistance from Shirley Viens, Ruth Pestle, and volunteer
Ilene Joslin. The Society is grateful to all the volunteers that
spend long hours working.
There was
a Fall visit to the home of Calvin Coolidge in Plymouth Notch
on a beautiful October day.
After many
years as Treasurer, Jack Smith resigned, but remains as a director.
He is replaced by Sandra Reilly, who also acts as Secretary.
The annual
dinner at the Round Barn welcomed Howard Coffin as speaker in
his expertise on the Civil War, and Dick Bisbee spoke about his
new History of Waitsfield.
