who retired from the Commission during the year: Peter Laskowski,
the Planning Commission completed its final subdivision review
with its approval of the three lot Kisiel subdivision on Bowen
Road. Revised subdivision regulations were adopted by vote
at Town Meeting 2008. The Development
Review Board now handles subdivision applications as well
as all other zoning permits requiring review.
Commission worked on revisions to the Zoning
Bylaws, which included updated wording to reflect the adoption
of the Development Review Board, numerous housekeeping amendments,
revised sign regulations, and provision for Special Events in
most zoning districts. The changes to the sign regulations
were designed to support the business community by broadening
the types of permitted signs to include temporary signs. These
were among the zoning changes adopted by the Selectboard after
a public hearing on January 26, 2009.
the Planning Commission will be working on possible revisions
to the Commercial Lodging and Limited Business district zoning,
flood hazard regulations, potential residential hamlet zoning,
and an update of the Town Plan.
The Town Plan update is critical to give town residents
the opportunity to shape the future of the town and help set the
course of future development. The Planning Commission will
be seeking widespread participation from townspeople in this effort
and encourages citizens to offer their thoughts and ideas.
& Information. The Planning Commission holds regular
meetings the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m.
at the town office. The public is welcome at all meetings
and time is available to voice comments, concerns, or suggestions.
