Marion (Cota) Turner, a lifelong resident of the Valley, has
served on the Waitsfield Cemetery Commission for 20 years-and
counting. Her interest in cemeteries was inspired by her interest
in genealogy. She is renowned for her knowledge of the cemeteries
and the people in them. She is a person of great compassion,
integrity, and knowledge and is a tremendous asset to the community.
Born in Fayston and raised in Warren, Marion moved to the Turner
family farm when she and Albert Turner married. They raised six
children and created a family tree that includes 12 grandchildren
and 13 great-grandchildren. With a desire to keep the farm in
the family and preserve its scenic and agricultural heritage,
Marion and Albert conserved the farm through the Vermont Land
Trust in 1996. Albert passed away in 1997.
It is with great honor and respect that we dedicate this Town
Report to Marion Turner.
