PUBLIC FORUM
Waitsfield Town Office Expansion
Thursday, February 9, 2012, 7:00 PM
Waitsfield Elementary School

If it cannot expand in its current location, where should a new Town Office be?  The Town Office Task Force was formed to study options, get citizen input, and make a recommendation to the Selectboard.   Through a process of elimination, the feasibility of three sites was studied.  A public forum will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Waitsfield Elementary School to present the preliminary findings, discuss options, look ahead to next steps, and to hear citizens’ thoughts, ideas, concerns, and other considerations.  Contact Jennifer Peterson or Valerie Capels at 496-2218 for more information, or visit the Town Office Feasibility Study online.

Passport Services No Longer Available
at the Waitsfield Town Office
The Town of Waitsfield is disappointed to announce that the U.S. Department of State will no longer allow our office to accept passport applications for processing as of May 1, 2011.  The next closest acceptance facility is the Waterbury Post Office.  They accept passport applications Monday – Friday, 10:00 – 2:30 and by appointment on Saturdays.  It is advised that anyone intending to get a passport call the Waterbury Post Office at 244-7318 to be sure he/she has all the necessary materials before going to Waterbury.  Also, it is helpful to have applications filled out beforehand.  Up-to-date forms can be completed and printed from the U.S. Department of State's Web site: www.travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html.  The Waitsfield Town Office has blank forms, but it is unknown at this time if the U.S. Department of State will continue to send us forms as they are updated.
