Permit applications are available at the Waitsfield Town Office or may be downloaded from the Permits page on the Waitsfield Town Web site.  In addition to the application form, a valid certificate of insurance in the amount of at least $100,000/$300,000 Personal Injury Liability Coverage and $100,000 Property Damage Coverage must be included.  The completed form with required insurance information may be faxed or e-mailed to the Town Administrator's office.  The application fee ($5 for a single truck and $10 for fleets) may be mailed.  All permits expire every year on March 31, regardless of when the permit was issued.

Single vehicle permits must be carried on the permitted truck.  Fleet permits are not required to be carried in the trucks.

No travel will be allowed on roads legally posted between November 1 and May 1 of each year.  Specific authorization may be requested during these periods, conditions permitting, by contacting the Waitsfield Road Foreman at (802) 496-8897.  There are currently no roads so posted.

Permits are not valid for travel over posted bridges or wooden bridges.

The Town, through its Selectboard, reserves the right to revoke this permit and assess fees for any damages caused by the permittee's vehicle to Town roads, per Vermont State Statutes.

Oversized loads (over-width, over-height, over-length) need special permission from the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles, Enforcement Section (802) 828-2064.  See links below.
