Description

This road is an extension of the Bushnell Road. The record most likely associated with this road is from 1798 (see CCGIS record 13). In all maps up to the first AOT map in 1931 the Bushnell
road is shown to extend over Pine Brook to a residence on the northern side of the brook.

According to town historian Richard Bisbee, two pent roads extended from the Bushnell Road on either side of Pine Brook. Both connected the road to North Road (TH 3) and were used according to Bisbee up until the 1930s at the least. Though I was able to match the 1798 record to the Bushnell Road, I have not been able to definitely match any town records to the two pent roads mentioned by Bisbee and have therefore not shown them. It is very possible that these were never formally town public ways and were based off accepted use, though a more detailed search of town records may indicate otherwise.
